Colossians 2: 19
19 They have lost connection with the head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow.
I would like to say from the start, “Don’t send your family to a Bible believing Spirit Filled Church only”. The head of any household is the guiding factor for that household’s daily and lifelong outcomes. If the head directs the body, but doesn’t follow suit with its directions, then the direction loses its meaning. A parent can’t say to their spouse and family, don’t steal, and then turn around and rob a convenience store. That is hypocrisy, but it is the same scenario and same outcome when people send their families to an Apostolic Pentecostal Church near them, but do not follow suit. If you truly believe that a Holy Spirit Filled Church San Antonio TX is where your family needs to be, then why is it not also the place that you need to be?
God wants to have a personal relationship with everyone. That is true regardless of age, race, background, or beliefs. No matter who you are, you are one of God’s children. He wants us to get to know Him as intimately as He knows us. If you believe that your children and family should foster that relationship, then why wouldn’t you also seek to foster your own relationship. God is not someone that can only relate and be understood by certain age groups, but He can be known, and known well, by all. A local Full Gospel Pentecostal Church is the perfect place for you and your family to grow closer to Him together.
Let’s look at a few of the benefits of attending Pentecostal Church as a family, instead of doing it piecemeal. First, the entire family is given the opportunity to learn the same lessons from the Bible at the same pace. This includes hearing the same sermons and Sunday School lessons, but often hearing them as geared towards their own age and level of understanding. This allows parents and children to grow at a similar pace and to assist each other in that growth. When parents and children encounter questions and challenging aspects of the Sunday School lesson that they do not understand, they can turn to the understanding of each other to find the wisdom they are searching for. If you send your family to Church only, but don’t also attend with them, then you are robbing them of the potential to turn to you for help and answers.
This in turn helps to foster relationships within your own family. As you continue to grow together, you are also spending valuable time getting to know one another deeper. You can see into each other’s lives and help address the struggles that your family deals with, each in their own way. Your children will see this wisdom that God transmits through you and it will build trust. As they grow older and come across larger challenges, they will remember the wisdom that they gained from attending Holy Spirit Church San Antonio and engaging in conversation with you. This will prove instrumental in the role of a parent as their child’s guide and advisor. As they come to you for advice, you can continue to build off of the things you learned together in an Apostolic Church setting. You can continue to seek His word on a deeper, more meaningful, and more personal level. The applications of what we learn in the Bible and in the walls of a Christian Church are endless, applying to every challenge at every stage of every person’s life. Do your family a favor, engage in those lessons with them, foster the knowledge with them, and impart God’s wisdom into them.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spit thee out of my mouth.
If you don’t attend Bible believing Holy Spirit Filled Church with your family, you are sending them in an opposing direction from your own personal path. You are sending them in a positive direction of growth, while staying stagnant and lukewarm in your own journey. You cannot expect your family to go on the journey of faith while refusing to take it with them. The “do as I say, not as I do” attitude does not assist your family, it hinders and divides it. Don’t be a conduit of that division but be the factor that prevents division. Encourage your family as they each take on their individual Christian journeys. Let yourself be encouraged by the strength and support of your family. The journey was never meant to be taken alone. Don’t force your family to do it in division, and don’t allow yourself to stay stagnant.
Don’t just send your family to United Pentecostal Church San Antonio TX, come with them. Learn together. Listen to the wisdom of God together. Take the time to be enriched by the sermons that He has directed others to deliver. Don’t take the journey alone, but in unison. Jesus wants to have a relationship with you, and Jesus wants to have a relationship with your family. Take this journey together, support each other, and help each other grow.

It’s Sunday Morning, you’ve been up for two hours getting yourself and your children up, fed, and dressed for church. As you go about your morning routine, you hear one of your children complaining about having to be up early. It’s the weekend after all, they want to sleep in while they have the opportunity. Another child wanted to spend the night at a friend’s house the night before, but you knew that they wouldn’t attend Church for Sunday School or Children’s ministry if they did so. Your children aren’t happy with you and are throwing a fit. You have two options, you can either take them to a Holy Spirit filled Apostolic Church service or leave them at home to cease their complaining. What do you do? Should children be made to go to Church even if they don’t want to go?
The answer, in short, is yes. Children don’t always want to go to school either, but most parents would agree that making them go is still the thing to do. Why? Because parents want their children to learn, grow, and mature. By making your children go to school despite their protests, parents are pushing them to achieve more. They are also being taught the important lesson that not everything in life is 100% fun. However, like school, Pentecostal Churches San Antonio TX offers a unique blend of fun and growth. Church is an opportunity for your children to grow socially, spiritually, and scholastically while having fun and enjoying themselves.
When you take your children to Full Gospel Churches San Antonio Texas, they are joined with other children and families that share similar interests and desires. Unbeknownst to them, they are also developing healthy relationships within a network of Christian believers. Friends made at United Pentecostal Churches San Antonio TX area share some of the same beliefs and lifestyles as your children and can therefore be a more positive influence on their lives. It starts with small opportunities to socialize, but as the children grow up together, the foundation between themselves and the Lord will grow stronger as well. When presented later in life and in school with the opportunity to either follow the crowd or do what they know to be right, the friends made by going to a Full Gospel Spirit Filled Pentecostal Church San Antonio will help keep them grounded and directed towards the Lord.
Matthew 19: 14
14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Bible believing, Jesus loving, local Community Church is the best place for your children to learn more about the Lord Jesus Christ and what His sacrifice means to their lives. Even at an age as young as three, when they are beginning to learn about the world in earnest, the message of Jesus is something that they can not only learn and comprehend but be enriched by. When you, as a parent, take your children to Church, you are instilling that message within the very foundation of their being. Smaller children especially, are still figuring out the majority of who they are and where their interests lie. By exposing them to the love of Jesus, by simply giving them the opportunity to hear His teachings, you are solidifying their moral and spiritual foundation to support them the rest of their lives. So, when they grow into adolescence and eventually into adults themselves, they can rely on the knowledge and faith that you helped instill in them when they were children. From the moment when all people are born, there is a hole in their life that can only be filled by Jesus Christ. It is never too early to start exposing them to the “Living Water” that Jesus provides.
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
The Church, Sunday School in particular, is a phenomenal setting for children to learn and grow scholastically as well. On an average Sunday morning, children are exposed to reading, writing, arts and crafts, and proper communicative skills. They are challenged to think critically, reading scripture and analyzing it in a way that is applicable to them. These are skills that aren’t often touched upon sincerely until the third and fourth grades. So, by bringing your children to Sunday school and Children’s Church, you are also giving them a stepping stone ahead of what the average child would receive without Children’s Church or kids Sunday School San Antonio TX They are being pushed to read scriptures, to commit many to memory, and to apply what those scriptures teach them to their everyday lives. There is no end to the applications of what can be learned in a Sunday School classrooms. When you bring your children to Church, you are setting them up for scholastic and career success by challenging them in a unique, fun, and interesting way.
When you bring your children to Sunday School, you are doing what is best for them. It is as simple as that. Not everything that helps us to grow and achieve is the most fun thing in the moment, but in the long run it has the best payoff. It is true that Church might not always be fun, and there may be more fun alternatives for your child. Sometimes the lessons are hard to grasp, but that does not diminish their importance in the life of a growing child. Remember, Full Gospel Pentecostal Church San Antonio area brings them together to socialize, to be challenged academically, and to grow spiritually in their walk with the Lord Jesus. If you are seeking a place where your children can grow in the three ways listed above, then we encourage you to join Pentecostal Life Church. Lazarus, what does that name mean to you? To most, it is the name of a man once dead, but raised from the dead by Jesus Christ. It is a preview of sorts of the latter death and resurrection of Jesus. It is a simple moment that helps define and extend the then known limits of Jesus’ power to His disciples. It is an example of revival, and how that can only be achieved through the means of Jesus Christ. Lazarus was dead, he ceased to live, and his earthly potential was diminished. But Jesus is not of this Earth, the Earth is in fact of Him. So, Jesus revived Lazarus’ body and in turn his spirit and the potential his life held. Jesus later performed a similar miracle when he died upon the cross and was later resurrected three days later. It is important to remember His sacrifice and the core of what it means for our earthly lives.
Just as Jesus saved Lazarus from the chains of death, He has freed all who choose to follow Him from the death that we are victims to because of our sin.
Ephesians 2: 1-2
1As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.
Whereas Lazarus received a revival of body, we have received a revival of spirit. While sin is still an obstacle to all man and women during their time on Earth, it is no longer the end of the line. When anyone sins, our hearts become blemished. We have violated God’s commandments and have been separated from His presence because of our imperfections. The wages of sin is death, meaning that under the law, sin should cause eternal separation from God. Thankfully, God loves us enough to offer us a chance at revival. He extends this offer through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus lived a human life, but He did not sin, fulfilling the commandments as indicated by the Law. However, Jesus still died on Good Friday. He chose to take the wages of sin, despite it not being required of Him. He took on that punishment so that we wouldn’t have to. He offered us a second chance, He offered us revival. This is again reflected in the story of Lazarus, as Jesus converses with Lazarus’ sister, Martha.
23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again. 24 Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” 25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” 27“Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”
If Jesus can revive Lazarus, He can revive the spirit of any individual, and so then shall He revive the spirit of a city, state, or nation? It’s no secret that the world is not a perfect place. We live in a society filled with violence, crime, hate, greed, and every other sin imaginable. It seems hopeless and bleak at times, especially when those issues become present in a Church or among believers. But don’t worry, because Jesus also spoke of these issues before ascended into heaven.
18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. 20 Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’[b] If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.
This world is not meant to be pleasant, especially for Christians who are actively trying to spread the love and message of Jesus Christ. But, He would not commission His followers to such an insurmountable task if He was not also leaving them well equipped. As believers, we have not only inherited His gift of eternal life, but the power of the Holy Spirit that dwells within us. As believers we must stand united under His Spirit and His purpose. So, I will close this post with a call to action, and a request for this nation.
As we see the world around us submitting to sin, as we see the chaos spreading around our cities, homes, and schools; let us pray. As we deal with struggles in our families, in our friends, and in our co-workers; let us pray for revival in San Antonio, in Texas, in our nation and around the world. As Satan hits us with everything that He’s got, temptation after temptation passes our way; join other Full Gospel Holy Spirit filled Apostolic Pentecostal Churches in San Antonio TX and let us pray for revival. Join other United Pentecostal Churches in San Antonio as we seek the face of God for revival. San Antonio and near by suburbs desperately needs revival. Should online preaching take the place of going to a local community Church physically? With the growing capabilities of technology and live-streaming service in today’s Church, this question has come up lately with increasing frequency. It’s no secret that it is often easier to view sermons and Church sermon via the screen of your phone, the comfort of your living room, or the speed of your laptop. But does this ease of access come with the same benefits of attending Church in person? Online sermons have been a blessing to someone bedridden or the shut in, but to the most part the bedridden shut in percentage is low indeed. Please allow me to present the case of why attending Church Physically is so important and then decide for yourself.
Easier access does not always indicate a better solution. There is much more to be lost in electronic Church attendance than there is to be gained. To support this claim, let’s look at a mission statement for the Church straight from the pages of Acts.
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
One of these devotions taken upon by the Church can be achieved through online attendance, but two of them cannot. The apostle’s or pastor’s teaching can be transmitted through online platforms nearly the same way that it can be transmitted in person. The pastor delivers a message and people listen to it, take notes, circle scriptures, and take the messages to heart. While the ability to interact with the Pastor and ask questions is diminished if done only online. Some claim that the principal and execution of the sermon remain relatively unchanged online without taking into account the spirit and atmosphere within the physical setting. What many people fail to understand is there are needful teachings & sermons that are not usually aired online for the fear it would be taken out of context or misunderstood. However, there are folks that are apart of an audience where it is clear everything is being done for the benefit of those that are not willing or can’t come to Church in person. Not everyone feels comfortable being open in worship while being live streamed. On the other side of the coin there are those that really ham it up in order to give a good show with the viewers in mind. It needs to be pointed out though, some things would be misunderstood unless delivered in the proper setting. For this reason many pastors keep the real meat for those that show up locally for midweek service and give the cotton candy and spiritual Slim Jims to the online viewers. Christian Show business is dumbed down for the broader viewers by and large. Still others seem to resemble Clowns for Christ in order to wow the viewers. (When I say, “Clowns for Christ”, I’m not referring to Children’s ministry which has made a positive impact on many children). Prayerfully consider being connected to a full Gospel Bible believing Spirit filled Apostolic Pentecostal Church near you instead of being a Christian show business junky. Being connected to a local Church body verses online only is like comparing a 16 once steak at a local steak house to a Slim Jim meat stick from the gas station. One takes longer to get, cost more, and requires a higher level of commitment. Speaking of commitment is that the real issue?
Group prayer can prove more difficult when Church is attended solely online instead of in person. There is a lack of personal connection, and many members may not even know what face to put to the name. This doesn’t diminish the power of their prayer, but it can prove more difficult for them in knowing what to pray. How can you thoroughly pray for someone if you don’t have even a general idea of who they are and what they are going through. When an individual attends Church physically each Sunday, they are allowing themselves to get to know others and to get to be known. People recognize them, they learn their personalities, and they begin to be able to tell when something is weighing on the individual. This sparks conversation, and when it comes to prayer, those praying are better equipped to deal with the situation. When attempting to submit a prayer request online, it may be difficult to get the need or situation across to the other parties. It may be difficult to let the individual seeking prayer know that they are being prayed for and just how they are being prayed for at that. There is a divide created by the lack of relationship between an online viewer and a Church member. When I received the Holy Spirit it was in a Church setting where other Holy Spirit Filled believers where physically present and were praying with me and for me at the time the Holy Ghost filled me. To this day I am grateful to the believers that cared enough to come to a gathering physically and pray with me. The Spirit filled believers didn’t know there would be a young person at a crossroads in the service that needed their prayers ahead of time; they simply showed up physically and God used them. There was a powerful presence of the Lord that gripped my heart that day that no video recording could capture.
The another challenge facing individuals that might seek online participation instead of personal attendance is the lack of fellowship. Think of the disciples and their individual relationships with Jesus and with each other. While many of them started as strangers and mere acquaintances, they performed great outreach and work because of their unity in fellowship. Once Jesus rose again and rose to Heaven, the fellowship that He fostered between the disciples allowed them to move into the world and work together for the singular cause of pointing others to salvation through Jesus Christ. When a modern day individual chooses to watch sermons from the comfort of their home instead of in the presence of a Church body, they are forsaking the principal of fellowship.
Again, the scriptures highlight the folly of forsaking the body as a whole.
1 Corinthians 12: 15-20
15 Now if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. 16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 18 But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. 19 If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
If one part of the body refuses to join in purpose and fellowship with the other part of the body, then it loses purpose itself. God calls each of His followers to serve with a distinct purpose as a member of His body. This applies within the individual bodies of different Churches, and to the kingdom as a whole. If someone chooses to learn, but not to grow in fellowship and support other believers, then they act as a stumbling block for the body as a whole.
Sermons are where the knowledge and wisdom of the Lord is learned, but relationships are where that knowledge and wisdom is put into practice. When you foster relationships with fellow believers, you are allowing them to speak into your life and they are allowing you to speak into theirs. So, when either of you face struggles, challenges, or obstacles along your journey as church believers together you both can impart further spiritual wisdom and hold each other accountable for it. The relationships between believers are what keeps the body moving in a positive direction. By encouraging each other, the body keeps moving forwards. By listening to each other, the body can heal any wounds between its members or between itself and the world. By working together in the name of Jesus Christ, His message and His salvation are spread further than any one individual could spread them alone.
So, there is importance to attending Church in person. There is a duty to your fellow believers and to yourself to foster the relationships and strengthen the body. Without the fellowship between believers, the body grows weak, and His message can be hindered instead of helped.

There is power in the attendance of Church. Not only does the Church serve as a place for the individual to learn and grow in the Lord, but it is a great place for couples to connect and grow together as well. By partaking in a joint commitment to the Lord each week, couples can build themselves on a solid foundation that will strengthen both their marriage and their walk with the Lord.
Matthew 19: 4-6
4“Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
The above verse is taking from Jesus’ response to a Pharisee that asked him about the nature and lawfulness of divorce. The Bible declares on several occasions the intent for one man to be wed to one woman for the duration of their lives. The bond of husband and wife is one established by God since the creation of Adam and Eve. It makes sense that it would best be maintained via a relationship with God. By attending United Pentecostal Churches San Antonio together, a married couple is able to let God speak into their lives as individuals and as a couple.
The messages delivered by the pastor can speak to the issues that lay within themselves and their relationship. That is part of the purpose of Church for all individuals that choose to attend, to be instructed and to grow. It’s no secret that people don’t always do the right thing. This can cause tension between friends and coworkers, let alone the tension it may cause if left unchecked between two people that live together. As humans, we are sinful by nature. Without the love, forgiveness, and wisdom of God, we remain vulnerable to that sinful nature. Marriage doesn’t magically make sin less appealing or harder to do, but it does make the consequences of sin more personal and abundant. The knowledge imparted from the Bible through Church pastors and instructors can help deal with rifts. People in any relationship are going to make mistakes. We, as humans, are not perfect, and so we cannot expect our human relationships to be perfect either.
In order to understand this concept, we must look back at the first pairing that God created on this Earth, that of Adam and Eve. Adam was made from clay, and Eve was later taken from a rib from Adam’s side.
Genesis 2: 22-24
22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. 23 The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” 24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.
Adam and Ever were in the Garden of Eden, living in perfect unison between each other and with God Himself. However, Eve succumbed to the temptation of the serpent and the Apple, breaking the one commandment that God had left them and leading Adam to do the same. To many, it seems as if Eve is the culprit because she sinned first. But, they both sinned regardless, just as any couple that has walked this Earth since then have both sinned at some point or another. Adam and Eve’s sin caused them to be thrown from God’s presence and for a rift to be formed between God and those whom He had created in His likeness.
All humans are flawed in every relationship they will have. However, Jesus is perfect in all relationships. When His Holy Spirit dwells within us we are giving power to help us in life’s challenges. And, while we will struggle from time to time, we will also succeed many times more than before because of the wisdom and power that Holy Spirit gives.
Some people say the Holy Spirit cannot be imparted by Church attendance, after all, that’s merely an act of showing up to Church once a week. But, the wisdom that God imparts to his pastors, the knowledge that they have received, and the messages that they transmit will foster the direction to a couple and many people have received the Holy Spirit in a Pentecostal Church setting. The stronger the Holy Spirit and our foundation with Christ, the weaker the effect that sin has on us becomes. And, when we truly repent of sinful life styles and sin then our relationships can truly be made stronger in our faith and commitment to our spouses.
So, please take the time to visit a Pentecostal Church in San Antonio TX regularly. Let the wisdom of the creator who set you and your spouse apart for each other touch your lives. Let His words bring you strength and healing, so that the pairing He set aside for you is free to fulfill the purposes He has designed for it.

Hebrews 10: 24-25

And, while it is possible that not all members of the family may decide to live for Christ by regular Church attendance, that commitment remains the goal none the less. The chances are a lot higher that the Children will view Christianity favorable when they reach adulthood if they had a positive Church experience when they were young. Let’s look at a few examples of how a family can live out that commitment both as individuals and as a singular unit.
Example A: A family of believers attends Church together every week. The parents are fulfilling their duties of training and instructing their children in the Lord. While they are not directly teaching the children in this example, they are giving them the tools and opportunity to learn in an environment filled with other believers, and from pastors and teachers that have greater training and knowledge than the parents may have on their own. By bringing their family to a Pentecostal Church on a regular and meaningful basis, the parents are helping to instill Christian values and Christly wisdom into their children. This combination of wisdom and values will continue to guide them as they eventually get older and then leave the security of their parents. Hopefully, what the children were able to learn in an Apostolic Church will stick with them and help them to live Christlike lives for the entirety of their life.
4 Fathers,[a] do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
Example B: A Married Individual brings their spouse and children to church with them every week. The individual is a Christian, the spouse and children are not, though the children haven’t yet made a decision either way. This individual may not be bringing their family to be fed and to grow in the same way that the family in Example A was able to, but the decision impacts them in a familiar and compelling way. Whole the entire family may not be firm believers, or even believers at all, they are still receiving regular exposure to a sound Christian environment. When a believer brings their friends and family into a Spirit filled Pentecostal Church for the first time, it can be a life changing experience. As a non-believer walks through the doors and listens to the teachings and wisdom of the Pastor, they are exposed to the message of Jesus in ways that they may have never been before. Many non-believers have a false pretense of what the message of Jesus is, many believe the lies they see on social media or the false doctrines they hear both on TV and in natural conversations. When they are given the opportunity to listen to the True Message of Christ from a trained and knowledgeable source, it can dissolve the barriers they’ve set up against the influence of His message. Regular Church attendance also exposes non-believers to the Christian lifestyle and lets them get to know people that are following in Christ’s footsteps with their own lives.
Regular Church attendance with your family may fit into one of these two examples, or it may be something unique. The great thing about the Church is that it doesn’t matter what your situation is, Jesus welcomes all who seek Him.
