At Pentecostal Life Church We believe…
The Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God. It is God’s universal instruction manual for every human and is the sole authority on salvation and Christian living. (2 Timothy 3:15-17).
There is one indivisible, infinite God. The One God has manifested Himself in the human timeline in various ways; but most notably as the Father (creation), in His Son Jesus Christ (redemption), and as the Holy Spirit (indwelling Spirit). Jesus Christ is the one God manifested in human form. Jesus Christ was fully God and fully human (Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9; 1 Timothy 3:16).
Sin and Salvation
Since Adam’s original sin, every person is born with a sinful nature which produces sinful actions. A life of unforgiven sin produces death or eternal separation from God. Jesus came to bring salvation to sinful humanity and give us eternal life. Salvation comes by grace through faith in the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ and obedience to the Gospel. (Romans 3:23-25; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9).
The gospel or “good news” of the scriptures is that we no longer have to pay the penalty for our sins because Jesus died for us, was buried, and rose from the dead on the third day. Through faith and obedience to the gospel, we repent of our sins, we are baptized in water in Jesus’ Name, and we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues. This is how we apply the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ to our lives (2 Thessalonians 1:8; 1 Peter 4:1; 1Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 2:4, 37-39; Romans 6:3-4).
Christians are to love God and others. We should live a holy life inwardly and outwardly, and worship God joyfully. The supernatural gifts of the Spirit, including healing, are for the church today (Mark 12:28-31; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:14; 1 Corinthians 12:8-10).
The End of the Age
Jesus Christ is coming again to catch away His church. There will be the final resurrection and the final judgment. The righteous will inherit eternal life and the unrighteous eternal death (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15)
How we worship at Pentecostal Life Church…
If you have never had the opportunity to be in a Spirit-filled service before, you will discover that Biblical expressions of worship are still practiced today. Join in with us as we praise God together in spirit and in truth.
We pray together aloud because in the Bible we read, “They lifted up their voice to God with one accord” (Acts 4:24).
We lift our hands in praise because in the Bible we read, “Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord” (Psalm 134:2).
We sing with all our hearts because in the Bible we read, “Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise”(Psalm 98:4).
We play musical instruments because in the Bible we read, “And all the house of Israel played before the LORD on all manner of instruments” (2 Samuel 6:5).
We clap and shout unto God because in the Bible we read, “O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph” (Psalm 47:1).
We dance before the LORD because in the Bible we read, “Praise Him with the timbrel and dance: praise Him with stringed instruments and organs” (Psalm150:4).
We testify publicly because in the Bible we read, “I will declare thy name unto my brethren; in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee” (Psalm 22:22).
We anoint with oil for divine healing because in the Bible we read, “Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord” (James 5:14).
We allow the operation of the spiritual gifts because in the Bible we read, “When ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation” (1 Corinthians 14:26).
